How to Become a World of Warcraft GM

A World of Warcraft GM or game master is an employment position with Blizzard Entertainment. GMs provide in game customer service to players who are stuck, dealing with problems or reporting abuse such as account hijacking and more.

Instructions

1. Possess strong customer service skills. World of Warcraft is a massive multiplayer online roleplaying game with multiple quests, raids and character interactions. GMs are the first line of customer service for players. The audience is global and the GMs must provide in-game and email support for the customers.

2. Be organized. A customer service representative is the face of the company that the players (customers) most associate with their gaming experience. It is important that a GM is prepared to cope with all types of requests, difficult attitudes and deliver friendly, organized service.

3. Live in Irvine, California. Most GM positions work out of the Irvine, California headquarters for Blizzard Entertainment. The department is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. GMs work hourly shifts. Applicants should expect that some overtime and weekends are expected.
