Eyeliner is one of those cosmetics that many women hate to use. It can be tricky to apply, difficult to keep in place and hard to remove. Worse yet, eyeliner sometimes melts and gets into the eye, irritating it and causing tears. Because of all these problems, many women spend a lot of time trying to find the perfect eyeliner. One of the best on the market today is Bare Escentuals' wet/dry eyeliner.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Bare Escentuals Wet/Dry Eyeliner Quad Eyeliner Brush
  1. Step 1

Purchase the Bare Escentuals Eyeliner Quad of your choice. Each Quad comes with four colors, some of which are neutral and others that are meant to be more dramatic.

  2. Step 2

Clean the skin using your usual cleansing system. Rinse and pat dry.

  3. Step 3

Apply any skin care products that are part of your normal regimen. Let them dry before applying any makeup.

  4. Step 4

Determine the color of eyeliner you want to use for the day. Stick with a neutral tone that will match the rest of your makeup.

  5. Step 5

Decide whether to use the eyeliner wet or dry. Used dry, the product will look more natural, be softer and have just enough impact. Used wet, the product will appear bold and much more dramatic.

  6. Step 6

Apply the eyeliner dry by dipping the eyeliner brush into the product. Tap off any excess powder.
Apply the product just above the lash line in a thin, straight line. Do not make the line too wide or get any makeup into the eye.

  7. Step 7

Apply the eyeliner wet by dipping the eyeliner brush into water before putting it into the product. Using the Quad lid, mix the powder and water together to form a solid, intense color.
Apply the product just above the lash line in a thin, straight line. Repeat the process along the lower lash line, again in a thin, straight line.

  8. Step 8

Let the eyeliner dry thoroughly before applying eye shadow or mascara.

Tips & Warnings
  • Choose eyeliner colors that will accent your eyes rather than match them. Use Bare Escentuals brushes for easy application. Choose more muted eyeliner shades for daytime wear. Save unusual or bold shades for night. For daytime wear, do not apply eyeliner along the bottom lash line. Make the line a bit wider for nightwear for a more dramatic looking eye. Try dramatic eyeliner effects, such as cat eyes, for nighttime wear. Mix two or more colors of eyeliner for a dramatic night look.
  • Be aware that although the powder is micronized, it can still irritate if it is put directly into the eye wet or dry.
