Step 1
You will make money by advertising a product or service with your article, so first you will need to decide on a topic. Choose a topic that you have a general interest, and knowledge about.

Once you have a topic in mind you will need to join an affiliate program such as commission junction. After you have signed up to the program you can search for products or services to recommend in your articles. Some business may require manual approval, but most will approve you upfront and allow you to start promoting and earning right away.

Now you will need to do your keyword research. Google has a free tool you can use to pick the best keywords at https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordTool just type in a search term that someone would use to find your article in search results. This tool will them give you a list of related search terms or keywords along with the average monthly search volume and competition. Pick two to three search terms with the most amount of average searches and the least amount of competition.

Now you can start writing your article. Write your article first and foremost with the reader in mind, however you will need to write the article around your keywords.
You will need to have measure your keyword density and keep it between 1% to 3%. Keyword density is simply the ratio of keywords to the total number of words in your article. There are plenty of sites that will measure your keyword density, just do a google search for keyword density checker. -
Step 5
Once you have your article written you will have the opportunity to place your affiliate link in the author resource box. You will have a few lines to recommend your affiliates product here, and of course if your reader chooses to purchase the product or service you will make money for creating the sale.

Now that you have your article written there are a few things you can do to give it a boost and start getting page views.
Submit your articles to social bookmarking sites such as digg, and yahoo buzz.
Submit your url to the search engines, this is basically a request for the search engines to include your article in their search results.
Join forums related to your article and participate in discussions. In the user control panel of your account you will be able to create a signature link here you can place a link to your article to be displayed each time someone reads you post.
