How to Make a Longbow Press
Longbows are strung and unstrung using a device known as a bow press. The easiest type of bowpress to use and to make is the stringer bow press. Utilizing nothing more than some sturdy nylon string, your own bodyweight, and proper leverage, anyone can build their own longbow bowpress.

Tips & Warnings
Many commercially available bow presses are quite safe and inexpensive.
Do not over stress the bow by pulling to the side or twisting the limbs. This could cause damage to the bow or physical harm to you.
