How to Play Holiday Snowflake Matching Game

Who says no two snowflakes are alike? Every snowflake has a twin in this holiday snowflake matching game. A Christmas twist on the classic Memory game, the holiday snowflake matching game is easy to construct with some snowflake cutouts and Christmas stickers. Kids will have a grand time trying to find each snowflake’s match. The holiday snowflake matching game is a festive, seasonal tool to reinforce object recognition and memorization skills too!

Things You'll Need:

• 20 Small Snowflake Cutouts
• A Variety of Holiday Stickers. You will need 10 different pairs of matching stickers. For example, you would have two Christmas tree stickers, two Santa stickers, two snowman stickers, etc.

1. Adhere one holiday sticker to the center of each snowflake. Once complete, you should have 10 pairs – each pair will have a different matching sticker.

2. Arrange all of the snowflakes sticker-side down on a table or other flat surface. Don’t forget to mix up the matching pairs.

3. The holiday snowflake matching game is played just like a traditional Memory game. Have kids turn over one snowflake and then another, trying to match the stickers. If the two snowflakes he/she turns over match, then he/she has a pair and can remove them from the game. If they don’t match, he/she should turn them back over and try again. Play continues until kids have matched up all of the snowflake pairs.

Tips & Warnings

• Continually remind kids that even when they don't uncover a match, they need to try and remember what sticker they saw where so it will be easier to uncover a match on their next turn.
• Store the snowflake pieces in a small box or bag to preserve them for multiple uses. Kids will love participating in the holiday snowflake matching game over and over again.
• The holiday snowflake matching game can be played with multiple players. Have each player take a turn, following Steps 1 through 3. The player with the most matches wins.
