Have an Indoor Snowball Hunt and Snowball Fight

Whether they’re used to a white Christmas or one that’s sunny and bright, kids will flip for the holiday snowball hunt and snowball fight activity. Piles of white, fluffy cotton balls make delightful faux snowballs. Kids will be excited to hunt for these special “snowballs,” culminating in a thrilling snowball fight with mom or some of their friends.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cotton Balls (approximately three bags)
  • Pail or Bucket
  1. Step 1

Hide the cotton balls around the house in piles of approximately eight pieces. Behind chairs and doors, under tables and in cabinets are just a few hiding places that you can use.

  2. Step 2

Instruct kids to search for the cotton ball snow and collect it in their pails. If kids are having trouble finding the faux snowballs, you might want to give them a few subtle hints.

  3. Step 3

Once kids have found all the cotton snowballs, it’s time for an old-fashioned snowball fight with mom. In an open area, you and your kids will squeal with delight as you throw cotton snowballs at one another.

Tips & Warnings
  • A few hours before hiding your cotton snowballs, put the cotton balls in the refrigerator. Kids will be thrilled when the faux snowballs they find are cool to the touch.
  • After your faux snowball hunt and fight, arrange the cotton balls in one large pile so your kids can make “snow” angels.
  • Having an indoor snowball hunt and snowball fight is easy to adjust for groups or school Christmas parties. You’ll need one pail or bucket for each participant and approximately two bags of cotton balls per kid.
  • You’ll want to have a video camera on hand for this one. The holiday faux snowball fight is certain to be a hilarious and amusing spectacle.
