Things You'll Need:
- Paper
- Pens/Markers
- Cards
- Computer/Printer (optional)
- a little creative thinking
-
Step 1
Think of a service that you can provide the person you are giving to. For example, if you're an auto mechanic, maybe you can offer a free oil change at that person's home and give them a hand made gift "card" or gift certificate.
-
Step 2
Think of things your good at or you've received lots of compliments for. If you're good at polishing and shaping nails, give a card or certificate for 1 free manicure. Gift 1 day of lawn maintenance. Gift washing their car. Or maybe there's something that person has wanted you to do for them and you've procrastinated for what feels to them like forever. Gift Card or Gift Certificate it to them and let them return it to you to cash in.
-
Step 3
To make a Gift Card, consider the options available to you. You could purchase an actual card and turn the inside of the front cover into a gift certificate. Possibly turn the card to the side so that it's rectangular like most gift certificates. Choose some colored markers and get started. Create borders, draw pictures, or just make it plain. The choice is up to you. Consider personalizing the gift card with a picture to describe what you're gifting. Like a hand with long nails or draw a picture of a car. Maybe cut out a picture from a sales paper or newspaper and paste it on. Personalize the gift card with something the recipient likes: a Cat, Dog, Flowers, etc.
-
Step 4
Your local office supply stores and department stores offer a variety of specialized paper or stationery that can make great gift cards or gift certificates. Some office supply stores sell sheets of perforated cards or gift certificate paper for the computer. Many software programs are customized to make cards or certificates with those particular cards or sheets. Consider giving business card size gift cards for men to keep in their wallet until they cash in.
