Snare drums are a small yet essential component of the percussion line in any marching band. However, what makes people truly enjoy the snare drum is the tricks the drummer does during a performance. Place the drumstick halfway off the snare drum.

With the other drumstick, hit the stick that is hanging off the drum from underneath. This should cause the stick to spin in the air.

Creating Cool Sounds

Hit the ends of the snare drum repeatedly, which should create a sharp bang.

Hit the drum with your sticks faster and faster; it should replicate the sound of a helicopter.

Excessive practicing can cause hand cramps and pains, so take frequent breaks. Be careful to avoid being injured by the drumsticks in situations when they may slip out of your hand or take an unexpected bounce off the snare drum.
