If you've never tried shopping at thrift shops, you don't know what you're missing. Flea markets and antique malls are out there too, but if you want to support a local charity while you're shopping, it's easy to find a charity thrift shop in your area.

If you're new in town, check with the local Chamber of Commerce. They should have ready information on the various charity thrift shops available in your area.
Don't forget to ask about churches and hospitals in the area. Spend money at these charity thrift shops manned with volunteers so you know that all the money will go to a good cause. Get a bargain and in doing so, maybe someone else gets to eat.

Go to this website, The Thrift Shopper, which lists all charity thrift shops in your area. (see link below.) Find how the shops are rated because often these tidbits of information can be very helpful.
Enter your zip code and it will provide a list of charity thrift shops in the area, the hours of operation and ratings by customers. Have fun!
