Things You'll Need:
- Power drill Jigsaw Sandpaper Staple gun Tape measure 2 pieces of particle board Felt Vinyl Foam Spray adhesive Staples Screws
-
Step 1
Gather your tools and supplies. Find the exact plans you want. There are many Internet sites which offer detailed plans for free or little cost (see Resources below).
-
Step 2
Measure the cuts you'll be making in the wood. Many plans will instruct you to cut a playing surface and ring from one piece of wood and a padded rail from the other piece of wood. After making the necessary cuts, sand the edges smooth.
-
Step 3
Apply the foam to the wood board, which will be your playing surface. You'll need to spray the adhesive on the board and set the foam on top of it. After it is securely attached, cut away the extra foam.
-
Step 4
Place the felt facedown on the floor and put your playing surface on top of it. Fold the felt around the wood (like you're wrapping a present) and secure the edges underneath the wood with staples.
-
Step 5
Put the remaining foam around the ring of wood that will become your rail. You will again need to spray the adhesive on the wood to bond it with the foam. Wrap the piece of vinyl around the ring and use staples to firmly secure the vinyl to the ring.
-
Step 6
Line up the vinyl rail and the felt top. Use wood screws to attach the two pieces together firmly.
-
Step 7
Set the poker table on top of your normal tabletop. Invite your friends over, grab a drink and deal those cards.
