Get Medical Alert Bracelets

A medical alert bracelet can save your life. If you have a medical condition or allergy that would alter the medical care you receive for hospitalization or an injury you should wear a medical alert bracelet to alert those who need to be aware.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The first thing you will need to do is find out exactly how many medical alerts you have and abbreviations for the conditions that may not fit on your bracelet. You can find a link below with a list of abbreviated medical terminology. All of your medical conditions will need to be listed on your medical alert bracelet.

  2. Step 2

Next, find a site that sells medical alert bracelets. There are a number of sites available where you can choose different styles of tags and bracelets. There are a few links below but there are many more if you do not find a style that you like on these links.

  3. Step 3

Pick out your bracelet and tag style and fill out the form for your information on the form within the site. You can add as much information as you wish as long as it will fit on the tag. If you want to include a phone number of someone who can be reached in case of emergency you can list that also.

  4. Step 4

Place your order, pay for it and you should receive your bracelet in the time specified by the site.

Tips & Warnings
  • Medical alert charms and necklaces can also be purchased from the same sites.
  • Child medical alert bracelets are also available. If your child has a medical condition that requires an alert, try a child bracelet. Some child I.D. bracelets have quick release closures in case they catch the bracelet on something.
  • Always check with a medical professional to find out what your medical conditions are that need to be alerted. You may not think you need a medical alert bracelet but a medical professional can tell you if this is actually the case.
