Things You'll Need:
- Bride
- Groom
- Lips
-
Step 1
When the minister says "You may now kiss the bride" many brides and grooms experience a moment of indecision and confusion. What kind of kiss is appropriate? You want to show your new wife exactly how much you love her, of course, but you don't want to make people uncomfortable. Unless the wedding is totally appropriate, this is not the time to engage in a tongue tango.
-
Step 2
You only get one chance to kiss that bride; in most cases, anyway. While the grab and dip and smack is dramatic, it carries with it the pitfalls of pratfall. Resist the temptation to grab your wife and bend her backward; it looks cool in the movies only because they delete all the times when they stumble.
-
Step 3
Romance is the word of the day. The bridal kiss should the most romantic kiss you have ever given your girl; maybe the most romantic kiss you ever will. Therefore, there is only one perfect way to kiss the bride.
-
Step 4
Turn to your bride and lift her veil up and over her head if she is wearing a veil. Take cup face in your hands, holding her gently as if she is the most delicate and fragile thing in your life, which she should be. With her face held between your hands, take a moment to look at how beautiful she really is. Look into her eyes so that she can see that you will never betray her and that she will never have reason to betray you. Then, very gently, very sweetly, lean it you kiss her. Lightly, but not too lightly. Firmly, but not too firmly. No open mouth. A kiss on the lip that says in seconds what you will never be able to tell her with her words. This kiss will be remembered forever by all who witnessed it.
