Things You'll Need:
- large sheet of construction paper
-
Step 1
Cut strip.Cut a four inch strip of construction paper. If you do not have access to scissors when you are making the palm tree you can tear the strip.
-
Step 2
Roll into a tubeRoll the strip into a one inch diameter tube. Do not make the tube too tight or you will not be able to reach in to tear the slits.
-
Step 3
Tear slitsTear four slits evenly spaced around the tube. Tear them about halfway down. You can cut the slits but tearing gives the tree a more "leafy" look.
-
Step 4
Tube with four slits tornGrasp the tube around the bottom.
-
Step 5
Grasp the center stripReach into the tube and grab the center construction paper strip.
-
Step 6
Ta DaGently and firmly pull the palm tree up. Be sure to do it with a flourish and say "Ta Da".
-
Step 7
You must tape around the bottom if you want it to stay together.
