There are lots of reasons to create and use a pre-made rubber stamp and there are several ways to purchase a stamp. It is important to know what kind of stamp you would like. There are a couple of types for business or everyday use. The first is a stamp that requires an ink pad and the second has a built-in self inking pad.

    Determine Type

Determine which type of rubber stamp you would like: simple ink stamp with pad or pre-ink stamp. Next determine what you want on your stamp. Popular uses for stamps range from address stamps to date stamps or stamps that can be used to show a status on documents such as CANCELED, PRIORITY, RUSH, APPROVED, PAST DUE AND URGENT. You may even want a signature stamp or one with your company logo.

For online purchases, use Google to find sources that will make and ship your stamp to you. Start by using the search phrase "rubber stamps" in the search box. Locate a supplier in the sponsored links and the search results. Create an account with the online service and use their friendly online order forms to purchase the stamp or stamps that you need. For local purchases, shop at office supply stores like Staples, Office Max and Office Depot. Also shop at printing shops like Kinko's (many of these stores also have online services). Many stamps used to show documents status or date stamps are pre-made and can be found on the store shelf. You will also find ink stamp kits on the shelf where you can assemble the lettering into a holder that can be used to show your address. To purchase a pre-ink address stamp locate a sales associate and ask them to help you fill out the forms to order a specific custom stamp for your needs. Show them a sample printout of the stamp design or use the store sample catalog to order the stamp you want. The store will order the stamp or stamps and notify you when you can come in to pick them up.
