How to Help a Church During the Christmas Holiday
Christmas is an important time of year for a church. So many things need to be done to help with the daily operations, along with other tasks that would just make the holiday season a little better. The pastor or priest and his small staff can't do it all alone. If the congregation comes together, it really lightens the load and blesses the helpers at the same time. There is much to be done. Participate in the choir to sing Christmas carols, or take part in the church's Christmas play. Numerous positions usually need to be filled, from actors and actresses to musicians, costume makers and behind-the-scenes workers. Not only will you entertain the congregation, but you'll be sharing a special message about the birth of Jesus Christ.

Purchase non-perishable items for the church's food pantry (if it has one). Volunteer on the days when food is given out, making sure no one goes hungry this holiday.

Help decorate the church for this festive holiday. Many churches have group-help days when everyone meets at the church at a given time and helps decorate. This is a fun way to fellowship with other church members while making the environment perfect for the holiday season.

Donate gifts for the needy. Some churches just do toys for the kids, others allow you to adopt a needy family, and some simply ask that you pick a name off a tree and purchase gifts for that purpose. No matter what you pick, you'll be blessed.

Ask your pastor or priest if there is anything you can do for him during this hectic time. Perhaps it's delivering food to the needy or dropping off presents, or maybe it's administrative work to help lighten the load in the office.
