Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • a list of the following:
  • nursing homes
  • hospitals
  • homeless shelters
  • animal shelters
  • a nostalgic movie
  1. Step 1

Make a list of the nursing homes, shelters for the homeless, hospitals or anywhere you can think of that people will be away from their home for Christmas. This is a great place to visit during this time of year and make those who do not have anyone visiting them for the holidays a little happier by being their visitor. Nursing homes are great for visiting and bringing a little cheer to those who may not have family left to visit them. Those who are homeless this holiday season will appreciate someone to talk to.

  2. Step 2

Check with your local animal shelter and if possible, adopt a pet just for the holiday season. You will have a companion who will be grateful to be with you and who knows? This may turn into a permanent situation.

  3. Step 3

Nostalgic movies are a great way to spend Christmas. There are many shown on television but if you have a favorite, rent it or buy it and watch it on Christmas day. As a matter of fact, you probably have two or three favorites.

Tips & Warnings
  • One thing you do not want to do is dwell on the fact that you are alone. If you think about it, you have many things for which you are grateful. By keeping this in mind during this holiday season you will realize there may worse things than being alone.
