CAMERA, lights action! This is not normally on the list of items needed to bring home puppy. BEFORE you think of choosing your puppy - buy a quality camera.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Quality camera like Canon Powershot G10, Canon Digital Rebel or Nikon D-700.
  1. Step 1
    Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3
    Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3

QUALITY CAMERA: A Nikon d-700 is good, but we prefer the Canon Digital Rebel for taking quality pictures. Right now the Canon Powershot G10 is HOT HOT HOT. My professional photography friend Joel will not use less than a Canon Digital Rebel for pictures. IF you buy a golden retriever you need really good camera for action shots!

  2. Step 2
    Canon Digital Rebel, Canon powershot

After you purchase your Canon camera and equipment, enroll in Digital Photography School. You can also sign up for The Daily Puppy or other free online photo instruction forums. The link for Digital Photography School is in the resource box.

  3. Step 3
    Canon Digital Rebel, Panasonic

AS you are learning, use your puppy as model. With digital cameras you can erase pictures without cost, so take LOTS of pictures. Practice shots of your puppy, learning how to take action, as well as posed shots. Experiment and learn to use Adobe Photoshop for editing pictures.

  4. Step 4
    Digital Camera, Photo Storage
    Digital Camera, Photo Storage

Set up an account at Flickr, Photobucket or other web services for storing pictures. Enter photo contests, and send pictures of your puppy to Hollywood agents. See resource box.

  5. Step 5
    Quality Camera Prints, great memories

Build a scrapbook page with a couple photos of your dog and nugget of information: such as veterinarian trips, training classes and escapades of Fido. Host a scrapbook party. Set everything up in front of a fire, pour a glass of wine for you and a chew bone for Fido. Make sure to get Fido's PAWPRINT.

  6. Step 6
    Grab the REBEL quick!

Now while you might not win a zillion dollars with your photos, you will have fun and win a few little ribbons. The real prize is when your pup turns adult, which is all to soon. You will flip the pages of the scrapbook and remember things long forgotten. You will see the journey you took together while he became your best friend. You will be glad you had a GREAT Camera. Now go get that Nikon or Canon, you deserve it.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can get inexpensive print by taking photo flash card into most drugstores, Walmart or Sam's Club.
