Train Your Son to Be a Real Man
Train Your Son to Be a Real Man

This article will offer you simple steps to take to ensure that your son becomes a real man.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Be an example: You are the first man that your son should learn from. If you do not step into this role, someone or something will.

  2. Step 2

Teach Respect: Teach your son to respect all people in authority. You do not want him to think that he does not have to listen to anyone else but you. This will be problematic in school, on the job, and in society as a whole. Teach him to always respect authority and rules.

  3. Step 3

Teach Boundaries: Teach your son moderation and self-control. This includes areas of eating, playing video games, etc.. If not tamed early, his inability to control himself can spill over into his unwillingness to control his weight, his desires for things that could be harmful to him.

  4. Step 4

Discipline him: You must enforce house rules and train him to abide by those rules. When he does not, your must give him consequences. If you allow your son to go through his young days without facing consequences for his actions, he will transfer that thinking into his adult life.

  5. Step 5

Teach him love: Your son needs to first experience love from you. The lack of love from a father has far reaching consequences. Therefore, tell your son how much you love him. Teach him to love his mother. Display appropriate behavior and affection for your wife in his presence. If you do not show him as a child how a man should relate to his wife, he will learn from somebody on t. v..

  6. Step 6

Teach the art of listening: Teach your son to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger. If he can master this, he will become very wise by listening before he speaks and discerning what the appropriate response should be.

  7. Step 7

Teach your son to plan: Teach him that life can be better if he has goals and plans. If he does not plan, life could very well deal him a terrible hand. Help him to plan for school, plan for high school classes, plan for college, plan for finances, etc.. He needs a plan for everything that he does.
