How to Safely Remove A Leech
Leeches inject natural enzymes into their hosts that help to prevent pain, so you likely won't feel their bites. They are typically harmless, although they can deposit infectious agents directly into your bloodstream if you don't remove them in the proper way.

Avoid using salt or heat on the leech. These methods actually increase the chances that the leech will vomit into the wound, which will greatly increase your chances of infection. Your main goal should be to avoid harming the leech.

2
Use a dull butter knife and slide it gently underneath the leech. The wound may bleed as the leech releases its grip, but soap and clean water should prevent infection. Make sure that you slide it slowly and gently. Try your best to not harm the leech in any way.

If you can stand it, the easiest way is to just let the leech enjoy its meal. After around 30 minutes, the leech will naturally release enzymes that prevent further bleeding and fall off on its own. If it doesn't bother you, let nature take its course.
