Holiday's are up-on us. Why not spice it up with a little bit of rum.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • chocolate wafer crumbs, or regular.
  • ground allspice
  • sugar
  • dark rum
  • chocolate chips
  • chocolate sprinkles
  • cocoa
  • corn syrup
  1. Step 1

    2 cups chocolate wafer crumbs or regular.
    1/2 tsp ground allspice
    2 tsp cocoa
    1 1/2 cup sugar
    2 tsp corn syrup
    1/3 cup dark rum
    1/2 cup chocolate chips
    3/4 cup chocolate sprinkles

  2. Step 2

    Into a large bowl, sift together 1 cup of the confectioners' sugar, the cocoa powder and allspice.
    Stir in the rum and corn syrup.

  3. Step 3

    Stir in 2 cups crushed vanilla wafers in and mix well.
    Place in the refrigerator to firm up slightly, about 30 minutes.

  4. Step 4

    (The mixture will appear crumbly and dry;) Place the remaining 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar in a shallow bowl or dish.

  5. Step 5

    Using your hands Shape into 1 inch balls. place on a tray with wax paper.
    roll half the balls in the confectioners' sugar, coating evenly.
    Place on a baking sheet, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.

  6. Step 6

    In a double boiler, using hot water, melt chocolate.

  7. Step 7

    Let it cool a little.
    Dip the other half of the balls into melted chocolate with only a thin coating.

  8. Step 8

    Roll in candy sprinkles.
    Place balls on waxed paper lined tray until chocolate is set.

Tips & Warnings
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, placing waxed paper between the layers to prevent sticking.
