Things You'll Need:
- Repertoire
- Agent
-
Step 1
Start by building up your acting repertoire by participating in your high school or college plays or musicals. Also, you can start acting by auditioning for acting roles in your local area.
-
Step 2
Have confidence. When auditioning for a role, chances are you will be ridicule and stomped on. They may comment on your weight, height, or anything they just don’t like about you. So, you need to have confidence in order to keep moving forward.
-
Step 3
Find an agent. Once you have buildup your acting repertoire, you will need a good acting agent to promote you. An agent is very important because he or she will find all the work you need to start acting.
-
Step 4
Go to the right locations. Locations such as California and New York are wonderful places for those who want to become an actress.
-
Step 5
Take pictures. Most pictures are head shot pictures for casting directors to see. Your agent should be able to help you with this. Pictures are important because casting directors need to know if you fit the role they are looking for or not. So, take good pictures.
-
Step 6
Have a resume. This is also important for casting directors to see. It should have all the necessary information such as your acting repertoire, your weight and height and so on. If you don’t know how to setup your resume, see the links below.
-
Step 7
Make sure acting as a career is what you want to do. In any profession, it takes time and work. So, make sure this is definitely something you love and enjoy.
