You have had one of those nights when you wake up the next morning feeling like you did not sleep. You toss and turn and never enter that restful state of sleep that is so important fro refreshing your mind and body. Too many people in today's society have this problem. They are searching everywhere for the answer on how to sleep better. Many turn to their medicine cabinet to get a better night's sleep. There is no need to do this. You can sleep better without taking medication.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

An hour before you plan to lie down for bed, turn off your TV and computer. You may think that you are relaxing in front of the TV and computer, but in reality your keeping your mind active and wide awake. You r mind needs time to calm down and relax before you try to fall asleep. When you do this step, it will help you to sleep better for a longer period of time.

  2. Step 2

Take out a journal and write in it for a few minutes. The reason that most people do not sleep well at night is that their mind is worrying and trying to figure out situations and other problems that it feels are happening. Write in your journal any aggravations or concerns that pop into your mind. By placing these thoughts on paper, your mind will feel more at ease and ready to fall asleep.

  3. Step 3

Run your self a warm bath. One of the culprits to not sleeping better is that you are sore. By relaxing in a warm bath before bed time, it helps to loosen the muscles that you have put strain on during your day. This step also helps you to sleep better because you are clean. When you feel clean and are in comfortable night clothes, you will have a better night's sleep.

  4. Step 4

Turn off all lights in the room that you will be sleeping and set the temperature on the thermostat lower then where you keep it during the day. Even the light from your alarm clock can cause you not to sleep well. By taking these extra steps you will sleep better.
