If your dog thinks the couch is a bed then you should consider reading this article.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • treats
  • water spray (punishment)
  1. Step 1

I know my dog likes to take a nap on the couch.
To each your dog to get off and STAY off you must follow these steps.

  2. Step 2

First wait for your dog to go on the couch. Don't encourage the dog too because then it will think that is right.

  3. Step 3

Then after the dog is up and laying down tell it to get off. When it gets off then say NO and point at the couch. Then give the dog a treat.
If your dog doesn't get off right away the drag her off and spray her with water (punishment). Then say NO and point at the couch. DONT GIVE HER A TREAT!!!!

  4. Step 4

Wait for the dog to go back on the couch. If your dog is understanding then it won't go back on the couch. You are lucky if your dog is like this.

  5. Step 5

If your dog goes back on the couch. Bring out the water sprayer (punishment) but don't spray her. Say NO and point to the ground to have her get off. I know my dog hates even the sight of the sprayer so she gets off right away.

  6. Step 6

If that doesn't work drag her off and spray her. Say NO and point at the couch. DONT GIVE HER A TREAT!!!

  7. Step 7

If your dog keeps going on the couch then keep doing this. If she doesn't stop then you should get a trainer.

Tips & Warnings
  • This worked for my dog so I hope all you try it.
  • Your dog could act severely in return to the punishment. Some dogs will droop around all day.
