Make Pumpkin Sauce for Pasta

This is a recipe that is great during the autumn months, but it may take a while to get used to the "sweet" taste on the pasta, that is why adding some pepper gives it a right balance. The best pastas to use for this sauce are penne pastas, raviolis and if you want you can even try it on gnocchi.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 500 grams of pumpkin
  • 1 onion
  • Olive oil
  • A pinch of salt
  • Pepper
  1. Step 1

In a suacepan, add some olive oil, the pumpkin and the sliced onion and put on low heat

  2. Step 2

Cook on low heat until the pumpkin becomes more of a sauce substance this should take about 10 minutes, and continue to stir for another minute

  3. Step 3

Then add a pinch of salt and cook on medium heat for about 5 minutes

  4. Step 4

In the meantime add water to a pan and bring it to a boil for the pasta

on 11/27/2008 Sounds very different. I have added pumpkin to my regular tomato pasta sauce and it has an interesting flavor. I'll have to try just the pumpkin! Thanks!
