Take it easy on the foundation. As they age, many women think that the best way to look younger is to apply more layers of foundation. This isn't true. Too much foundation can magnify flaws and make lines look deeper. Instead of caking on foundation, apply a dot of concealer on trouble spots and use a shear foundation everywhere else to even out skin tone.

2
Skip the powder. Powder makes already dry faces look even drier. It also makes lines stand out.

3
Avoid harsh colors. Black, green, red and violet eye shadows can age you faster than any other hues of makeup because the make you look harsh. Try softer versions of these colors such as gray, sea foam, pink and lavender.

4
Apply your makeup with brushes. Brushes give you a light, even layer and use less makeup, giving you a softer, prettier look.
-
5
Choose neutral shades of lip liner. Darker colors draw attention to your mouth area and any wrinkles in the vicinity. Also, apply lip gloss over your lipstick to make your mouth appear more full and youthful.
