Hard at work...making more money with Associated Content maybe?

This article is based on first hand experience and will help guide you to not only make money writing for Associated Content, but also how to make the most out of your effort.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet Connection
  • PayPal Account
  1. Step 1
    PayPal Home Page
    PayPal Home Page

If you don't already have one, sign up for a PayPal account.

  2. Step 2
Associated Content Logo, trademark of Associated Content

Sign up for Associated Content. The process is easy and streamlined, and you can be up and running in ten minutes or so after filling out your information and PayPal information. There's a link at the bottom to sign up if you haven't already. (NOTE: Non-U.S. Residents take a look at Warning #1)

  3. Step 3

Start writing. "Evergreen Articles" (articles that don't lose value over time) are great for up front payments, as are local news, list articles, or sports predictions articles prior to the season. Articles that are only up to date for a short time are often best published for PPV only.

  4. Step 4

Search the AC website for topics you know about but they don't have a lot of articles on. Articles in these categories are very likely to be accepted for up front payment.

  5. Step 5

Look for topics people are going to search for. The best article I've ever heard of earned over $850 in one month due to the Pay Per View bonus (every writer gets $1.50+ for every 1,000 views their articles receive). Obviously this is not the norm, but I've managed $30-40 a month from one article just from views bonus, and those articles continued to earn passive income months later.

  6. Step 6

Challenge yourself to write five articles your first week. It might not be much, but the first step is always hardest and by writing five articles right away (even if they all end up display only), you have your first writing up, and you can watch your first earnings appear.

  7. Step 7

Build up a large collection of articles that get traffic. Since you get income for article views, you can build passive income this way. I get $40-50 a month doing absolutely nothing because of the traffic that articles I wrote over a year ago still receive.

  8. Step 8

Be persistent. The more you write, the more you earn. The longer you write here, the more you will figure out on how to get the most out of articles. If you own the rights to hundreds of articles you will never sell or use again, add them as display only. All that traffic becomes passive income!

  9. Step 9

Sign up and write those 5 articles! A lot of people sign up, few do anything. Do it now and see what Associated Content can offer you!

Tips & Warnings
  • Always go through one last proofread before submitting your article.
  • Never sell exclusive rights when you can avoid it. Re-selling and re-using articles is a key part of getting the most value for your time.
  • Don't be afraid to put past "free" articles you own the rights to (like from ezinearticles or "go articles" or other article directories) on AC as display only. You still get PPV bonus, and the sooner you move up the ranks, the bigger a cash bonus you get per 1,000 views.
  • Learn how to use AC in conjunction with sites like Constant Content, eHow, and the many other resources available online.
  • Non U.S. Residents, even in PayPal countries, don't get up front payments, but only receive Pay Per View Bonus. AC can still be a good income source, but its value is definitely diminished without up front payments.
  • Associated Content is best used in conjunction with several other websites and online sources - not as a sole source of online income.
  • Links included in AC articles are "no follow," so while you might get some traffic, you won't get any extra "Google Juice" using AC articles.
  • Find highly desired subjects. 16th Century Viking culture sounds interesting to me, but it's not something web surfers are looking for on a daily basis.
