Hello everyone,
With the Holidays coming up and all that good food being prepared for those family dinners, every one is thinking about that turkey and how to prepare it. Well what about the rolls? Here is an easy recipe for wheat rolls that will go very well with that turkey and is not only good but good for you.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 CUPS OF ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
  • 2 PKG. OF DRY YEAST
  • 1 CUP OF MILK
  • ¾ CUP OF WATER
  • ½ CUP OF OIL
  • ½ CUP OF SUGAR
  • 1 TABLESPOON OF SALT
  • 2 ½ TO 3 CUPS OF WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR
  • Mixing bowl
  • Sauce pan
  • Mixer
  • Oven
  1. Step 1

    • Mix all-purpose flour and yeast in a mixer bowl

  2. Step 2

    • In a sauce pan, combine the milk, water, oil, sugar, and salt

  3. Step 3

    • Heat to 120 to 130 degrees

  4. Step 4

    • Pour heated mixture into the flour mixture

  5. Step 5

    • Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes

  6. Step 6

    • Add whole wheat flour 1 cup at a time, mixing well after each addition

  7. Step 7

    • Dough will be soft. Let it rest for 12 to 15 minutes

  8. Step 8
     

    • On a floured surface, roll the dough to ½ inch thick and cut as desired

  9. Step 9

    • Place in a greased pan and let rise for 30 minutes

  10. Step 10

    • Preheat oven to 400 degrees

  11. Step 11
     

    • Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until brown. Makes 18 rolls.
    Enjoy with your holiday meal.

Tips & Warnings
  • Tip: Large rolls baked on a baking sheet can be cut in half used for sandwich buns.

on 11/19/2008 You know, it seems like every time I find a recipe that sounds good on Ehow, it IS good. So I'm SO excited to try this. I often fail at bread, but I'll practice this one nce before trying it on a holiday.
