Making cards are a great way for a child to use their creativity and to improve their writing skills and they are easy to do! These are fun to make for daddies, siblings, grandparents or even our Troops.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • prefolded blank cards (from craft store)
  • writing utensils
  • crayons or markers
  • glue
  • embellishments such as patterned paper, stickers, die cuts, and foam shapes
  1. Step 1

Take the prefolded card and have child decorate the front. Have them use their imaginations! Your child could color a picture or use stickers to make it real colorful.

  2. Step 2

Have them write a message on the inside in their best handwriting. Help them with spelling as needed. If your child really struggles with writing and spelling or they are too young to do it on their own, you can write the message out for them on a separate piece of paper and your child can copy it from the paper onto their card.

  3. Step 3

Put the card in an envelop and have them give it to someone special! For extra fun, your child can decorate the envelope.

Tips & Warnings
  • Other things you can use on cards are paints, rubber stamps, squiggly eggs, felt, feathers, doilies, scrapbook materials, magazine pictures, and pictures of child.
