  1. Step 1

    The Cattle Dog, is not the typical house or apartment sized dog. They need lots of room to excercise and to work.

  2. Step 2

    The best suitable owner for the Cattle Dog, would be a person with cattle, a farmer, rancher and/or a lot of room to run. Even so, without the extra activity of work, the dog could become bored and restless.

  3. Step 3

    This dog is not the family oriented type of dog. The dog needs lots of room to exercise and work. This is a very active dog and would not be suitable for a small environment, even when trained. They tend to guard their territory very well, and are extremely watchful of thier territory.

  4. Step 4

    History.
    The cattle dog is also known as a blue heeler, which has become widely available in Texas on ranches and farms.

Tips & Warnings
  • This is not the typical house dog, and will not work out well as a house pet.
  • The dog has to have room to run, work, and excersise
  • This is not normally a dog to play with
