Things You'll Need:
- Creativity
- Time
- Various craft objects
-
Step 1
Make a wall collage in memory of someone who has passed, or make a sport memorabilia one for your child/niece/nephew. Glue images, pictures, and/or words from magazines and books onto a large piece of heavy cardboard. Spray with clear acrylic to seal. This is a great gift for a child's bedroom, or as a piece to hang over the fireplace.
-
Step 2
Bake something! Cookies, fudge, and bread are all fairly inexpensive to bake in bulk. You could also make chocolate covered pretzels, or chocolate covered graham cracker sandwiches with peanut butter in them. Put them in a nice little box and wrap with ribbon.
-
Step 3
Gifts in a jar - you can put cookie mixes in a jar and give them as gifts. The recipient then chooses when he or she bakes the cookies, instead of having to eat them right away.
-
Step 4
Gift baskets - you can put together a gift basket for mom (sister, aunt, whoever) full of homemade bath salts. Or you could put together a game pack for a child - full of colored pencils, crayons, or markers, as well as a deck of cards, dice, and a few coloring books.
-
Step 5
Homemade potholders are always a big hit.
-
Step 6
Make a scrapbook, memory calendar, or a homemade journal. Personalize with inexpensive stickers.
-
Step 7
Crochet, knit, or embroider something. Make a t-shirt pillow (take a t-shirt and cut along the seams to form a square, sew the edges and stuff it).
-
Step 8
Give a coupon booklet to the special someone in your life, or have the kids help make one for dad/mom. Coupons for an extra hug, kiss, back massage, or help around the house are all great ideas.
-
Step 9
Most importantly, have fun this holiday season. Try not to stress out about gift giving. It truly IS the thought that counts.
