- Mobile phone with text messaging and camera

Step 1
m.facebook.comYou need to sign up for facebook mobile. This involves registering your phone number with face book. A text message will be sent to your phone with a registration code. After you enter the code at facebook, you are good to go. If you don't have a home Internet connection you can do this on your phones Internet connection, or through public Internet access (library, web café, or office)

Step 2
updating statusUpdate your status on Facebook by sending an SMS (text message) to FBOOK or 32665. Poke your friends by texting "poke Firstname Lastname" to FBOOK. Write on their wall by texting "wall firstname lastname blah blah"

Add photos and videos by sending them Mobile@facebook.com from your phone. You can also send pictures to photos@facebook.com and videos to video@facebook.com

Step 4
You can look at your facebook page while web surfing on your phone at m.facebook.com

Step 5
Go to you facebook mobile setting to control the information that will be sent your cell phone. You can get updates on all your facebook friends by SMS text messages (or not!). You can even set up a sleep schedule to suspend alerts at night (or perhaps working?)

Facebook charges nothing for this service. Whatever your cell phone usually charges for a text message would apply.
