Create an Online Liquidation Business
Create an Online Liquidation Business

There are more and more people looking to make money online these days. One of the best ways to start an online business is to buy and resale liquidation merchandise.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • ebay account or e commerce site
  • general business knowledge
  • self discipline
  • small investment
  1. Step 1

Create an ebay account: Even if you plan on creating your own site, I highly recommend creating an ebay account. You can find liquidation merchandise to purchase on ebay, as-well as sell items in bulk that doesn't sell on your own site.

  2. Step 2

Build your reputation with ebay: Sell a few things from around your house that you no longer need, and you can also purchase a few things that you may need. This will build feedback for your account so that buyers and sellers will feel comfortable with you.

  3. Step 3

Find a web host for your online store. SiteBuild It by far has the best reputation for creating successful online sites. Yahoo merchant solutions, and ebay prostores also have a good online rep.

  4. Step 4

You will now need a someone to process your payments online. I recommend either paypal or google checkout. You will find that most people trust paypal to process their payments. You can always offer more than one if need be.

  5. Step 5

Now you need some products to sell. Liquidation.com is one of the most popular sites to purchase liquidation products. These normally come in pallets, they may be overstocks, closeouts, or returns from stores such as wal-mart, k-mart, target, and etc.
There are plenty of sites to find these products, just do a google search.

  6. Step 6

Now that you have everything you need, write down a business plan that will just be for yourself. I recommend writing one for one year, month, and week. Of course you will need to adjust this as you go along, but you need some type of schedule to stick to.

  7. Step 7

Build your website. This is fairly easy, your e commerce host will walk you through the entire process. Research your competition to offer competitive prices.

  8. Step 8

Advertise your website: Here's where you need to think outside the box. Use ebay to sell a few products at a cheap price, and put up a link to your website. Send an invoice with their order with your websites address on it as-well.
You can also advertise through google, yahoo, msn and etc. for a low price.
