How to design a Christmas star lantern

A Christmas star lantern are ornamental star-like Christmas lanterns from the Philippines. They are traditionally made out of bamboo and paper and comes in various sizes, shapes and designs, however its star-shape facade remains dominant.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• hot glue or glue gun
• cellophane paper
• scissors or blade cutter
• japanese paper (optional)
• star lantern
• glitters
• simple light bulb or a small flashing old toys (optional)

1. Get the star lantern made of bamboo or cardboard. then get a colored cellophane and follow the shape of each triangle of a star.

2. Stick it using your glue gun or hot glue gun. hold it for a long time until the cellophane sticks the bamboo or cardboard.

3. Then step aside the lantern and get the Japanese paper. you can design a Japanese paper as an origami, shapes or just stick it below the two triangle in the star-lantern.

4. Add more beautiful colored glitters so it will sparkle and brighten the lantern.

5. If you have a simple light bulbs or a small flashing toy. You can stick it to the bamboo before putting the cellophane, so it will more brighten the lantern

Tips & Warnings

• it is better if you work with a friend or a family member to hold the cellophane in the lantern, so it won't fall easily.
• dont put many glue cause the cellophane will get hot.
