Computers have become a virtual necessity these days. From schoolwork to work from home opportunities, nearly everyone has a need to purchase a computer. If you are looking to buy a computer but feel handicapped by bad credit - or no credit, there are things you can do to purchase a great computer regardless of your credit history.

1. Obtain a cosigner. Many places will allow you to buy a computer on credit if you have a willing cosigner who does have good credit. This can be a great way to build up credit as well if you make your payments responsibly.

2. Be willing to fork out more money in interest. If you are really desperate to get that computer, you can purchase one through one of several computer companies which specialize in financing computers to people with bad credit or no credit. While the computer's price may not be exorbitantly high and the monthly payments may be quite low, expect to pay high interest fees in the bargain.

3. Consider buying a used or refurbished computer. These are often still very nice computer systems but the price will be a lot lower than new. Computers depreciate quickly, even if they are great computers.

4. Go in half and half with someone else in your household. Sharing a computer may not be fun but if you designate hours of use or something similar, it can be worked out and you will have a great computer to use for half the price.
