Apply Mineral Makeup

As a makeup artist, it important for me to cover imperfections in a short period of time, especially for film and television projects. By using natural mineral makeup with my technique, I can achieve a flawless appearance in less than 2 minutes. No liquid foundation or mineral veils are needed.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • a latex-free sponge or taklon kabuki brush
  • moisturizer serum
  • mineral foundation
  • Evian atomizer
  1. Step 1

Clean your skin with a natural sls and paraben-free face cleanser. This will gently wash away toxins and residue.

  2. Step 2

Moisturize your skin well. An organic base moisturizer is best for all skin types. If you are low on beauty products, organic flax seed oil will do the trick. This will act as a primer for the mineral powder.

  3. Step 3

If using a latex-free sponge, damp the sponge by spritzing Evian water. Apply the mineral foundation powder onto the skin in an upward sweep. The damp sponge will give the foundation a cream-to-powder effect.

If using the taklon face brush, spritz the Evian water onto the brush and apply the mineral powder onto the skin in a circular motion.

For both applications, you can provide extra coverage by repeating the steps.

  4. Step 4

*Optional* For a complete makeover, apply blush, mascara, and lip gloss.

Tips & Warnings
  • Not all mineral makeup are created equal. Look for green mineral makeup lines that are produced without talc, titanium dioxide, mica, animal by-products, bismuth, and petrochemicals.
  • Castile soap can be used to gently clean the latex-free sponge and taklon brush.
