Things You'll Need:
- baseball
- glove
- right or left hand (whichever you use to write with)
- alignment of your body position
- a ready look in your eye
-
Step 1
First thing is first. Two people are needed, one to throw the ball and one to catch the ball. Although you might try throwing the ball up above your head to achieve the same result.
-
Step 2
secondly, the person throwing the ball will be aiming his/her sights on your glove only.
-
Step 3
You, as the catcher, will position your hips and shoulder toward the throwing person.
-
Step 4
Hold your gloved palm toward the thrower. As the ball is released you can determine the speed by keeping your eye on the ball. You can also determine, as it hits the center of the glove, how to follow through with the flow of the motion.
-
Step 5
When the ball hits between your thumb and index finger, your immediate reaction should be to close the glove around the ball. At the same time, bend your legs in time with the flow of the whole motion.
-
Step 6
There you go.....You have caught a ball!
