Step 1
COMMUNITY COLLEGES Check out your local community college for affordable bookkeeping courses. Increasingly, many schools are offering online courses, including those in bookkeeping.
-
Step 2
ASSOCIATIONS Bookkeepers' associations, like the AIPB (American Institute of Bookkeepers) and the NACPB (National Association of Certified Public Bookkeepers), offer online or other forms of self-paced study.
-
Step 3
PRIVATE SCHOOLS Private schools are everywhere online and many offer bookkeeping training. Some are schools that have extensive course offerings and names you recognize, like DeVry and the University of Phoenix. Others are smaller and much more specialized. This is likely to be a more expensive option that either community colleges or associations so due your homework and make sure they offer what you need and that you have talked with others who have had good experiences.
