Going vegetarian can be hard. But it can be made a little easier through all the vegetarian meat substitutes on the market today. Anything you may crave, like chicken, bacon or burgers can be found in a meatless form.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • An open mind
  • A trip to the grocery store
  1. Step 1

Morningstar Farms Veggie Bacon Strips: This "facon" as some people call it certainly doesn't have a fake taste. You can get your favorite breakfast meat without the pork. Depending on how crispy you like it, it's microwavable or you could grill it up in a pan with some oil. It's also much less greasy than real bacon.

  2. Step 2

Morningstar Farms Buffalo Wings: While these nuggets aren't slathered with messy sauce they still have that spicy and tangy buffalo wing flavor. The consistency is virtually indistinguishable from a standard chicken nugget.

  3. Step 3

Morningstar Farms Chik Patties: The same formula as the buffalo wings but in patty form. This is good on a bun, just by itself or with sides of your choice. A great main course.

  4. Step 4

Morningstar Farms Veggie Steak Strips: It looks like steak. It feels like steak. It even tastes like steak. Steak is a famous food and now vegetarians can enjoy it. Sadly, this only comes in strips so it would be best served with something else. For example, in a salad, with rice, noodles or cooked veggies.

  5. Step 5

Boca Ground Burger: This is a very versatile food. You could make sloppy joes, chili, various pastas, any number of dishes that would require ground beef.

  6. Step 6

Boca All-American Flame-Grilled Burger: The vegetarian version of the classic American burger. It has that flame-grilled taste in a much healthier form.

  7. Step 7

Tofurky Sausages: Many vegetarian sausages are far too grainy but these, for lack of a better word, are plump and "meaty." They come in many different flavors including kielbasa, Italian sausage and beer brats.

  8. Step 8

Tofurky Roast: Perfect for Thanksgiving. Somehow they managed to imitate the consistency of turkey excellently. And here's the best part: the roast includes a flavorful stuffing.

  9. Step 9

Yves Meatless Hot Dog: For all intents and purposes, this is a hot dog. However, it thankfully lacks the "mystery meat" flavor that many regular hot dogs have. Vegetarians can enjoy a cookout as much as a meat eater can.
