When you get a sore throat, cold, or flu you don't have to rush to the doctor to get antibiotics. If you prefer doing that, it's your decision but if you love natural remedies this is the recipe for you.

Just go to your kitchen and whip up your very own cold and flu tonic. Most of us have the following ingredients in our kitchen, so you won´t even need to make a trip to the store!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • organic apple cider vinegar with Mother (Mother means the enzymes remain intact.)
  • raw honey
  • cayenne pepper powder
  • container with a lid or an empty honey bottle
  1. Step 1

Add 1/4 cup honey, 1/4 cup organic apple cider vinegar (with mother, the living enzymes that haven´t been removed by processing) and 1/2 teaspoon cayenne to a container with a lid or an empty honey bottle.

  2. Step 2

Close the lid and shake to mix well.

  3. Step 3

This remedy can be stored in the fridge or your cabinet.

  4. Step 4

Adults can take a 1 tablespoon dose several times a day (some people take it up to 9 times a day during a really bad day). Children should be given smaller doses according to their weight. A heavier, bigger boned child could take 1 teaspoon up to 4 times a day. Use your own judgement as a parent.

  5. Step 5

This is a strong, healing combination. It´s quite tart and spicy, but it really begins to kill that infection in the throat. The vinegar kills the bacteria that´s making your throat sore, gives you strength, and is loaded with potassium and Vitamin C. The honey is so soothing and the cayenne improves circulation, drawing away the infection.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember to shake before each use and when possible, use organic ingredients.
  • If you're taking prescription blood thinner, such as Wayfarin or Coumadin, you cannot take organic apple cider vinegar. Vinegar is a natural (safe) blood thinner. It cleans and purifies the blood naturally, which is a wonderful health benefit! But cannot be combined with prescription blood thinners.
