Love the show "What Not to Wear"? Wish Stacy and Clinton would rescue one of your friends from their embarassing wardrobe? Why not stage your own outfit intervention and break the news to your unfortunate friend in a fun way?

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Good Intentions
  • Great Friends
  1. Step 1

Get funding. Stacy and Clinton give their subjects $5000 to revamp their wardrobe. Gather your friend, his or her co-workers, buddies and family members and throw a "fundraising" party. Everyone else will know that the money is going towards your friends new wardrobe. Tell your friend its a rent party, or a fundraiser for a charity he or she would be interested in.

  2. Step 2

Spend some time taking some video (photos will work in a pinch) of your friend in their worst outfits. One of the best parts of "What Not to Wear" is that it shows the fashion victim what they look like everyday. We normally only take pictures of ourselves when we've dressed up for some occassion.

  3. Step 3

Time for the confrontation. Have a small get together of his or her closest friends, complete with drinks and snacks (Print out some Stacy and Clinton masks to make it more festive). Then kindly, or jokingly (depending on the thickness of your friend's skin) tell your friend what you've been up to and show them the video footage (or photos) that you've gathered.

  4. Step 4

Go on a fun shopping trip. Make it less about criticism and more about sharing fun shopping times. Bring a few friends along for multiple opinions on each outfit.

  5. Step 5

The 'reveal' party is a must. The more celebrations you have, the better your friend will take this necessary intervention. Head out to your favorite night spot where your fahion project friend can reveal their new look.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be kind! It's hard to hear that your wardrobe isn't working. Lots of festivites and positive comments will make this transition enjoyable.
