Planning a romantic night out during the Christmas holiday is a great way to spend time with a loved one while enjoying the holiday spirit. There are many different ways to have a night out, whether it is having a nice dinner and going shopping at a holiday decorated shopping center, driving around admiring lit houses while sipping hot chocolate and listening to Christmas carols, or visiting a local Christmas destination that has displays of decorated trees and gingerbread houses. While all of these nights out are romantic, one of the cheapest and most romantic is spending quality time alone together, driving around looking at beautiful houses filled with lights and decor. Map out areas that have residential homes with decorations. Many homes now are getting into the holiday spirit and becoming creative with holiday decor and ideas. These areas are the best to drive around in, since homeowners like to decorate for people's enjoyment.

Go to a coffeehouse and pick up some hot cocoa or mocha to enjoy on the drive around the neighborhood. If you do not like coffee or cocoa, hot apple cider is another holiday favorite.

Put in a Christmas music CD or enjoy a holiday station on the radio. A perfect CD for driving around would be one that has old crooners like Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby or Nat King Cole singing traditional carols, since it adds to the overall ambiance of a romantic night out (see Resources below).
