Make Custom Toy Planes

1
Spread out all of your art supplies and the plane contents on a table. Separate the art supplies on one side of the table and the model plane contents on the other side so as not to confuse the two.
-
2
Begin putting together your model airplane. This might take some time, so be sure to get up and walk around every couple of hours. It may not be possible to complete the model plane in one day.

3
Decide what areas of the model plane you want to paint and what colors you want to use for each area. With a pencil, write the initial of the color on the areas you want to paint so you can easily know what color to fill in. If you don't want to color some parts of the plane, note that as well.
-
4
Begin painting. Pay attention to the smaller areas which require more detail. Make sure to wash your paintbrushes if you switch colors. Try to leave alone all the areas which are painted so that they dry untouched. Seal the paint using shelaq. Allow the shelaq to dry.

5
Put the decals on the areas of the plane that you have chosen, first soaking the decals in water. Apply shelaq over the decals once they have all been placed on the toy plane.
