How to Apply French Maid Makeup
Dressing up as a French maid is very popular around Halloween. In addition, there are many mystery-themed dinners and parties that encourage the participants to dress up. This costume is supposed to be sexy, and the makeup is supposed to look seductive. This typically includes dark eyeliner, dark eyelashes and red lipstick. Prime your face. Prior to applying makeup, it is essential that you cleanse your skin. This prevents clogged pores that inevitably lead to breakouts. Cleanse your skin with a gentle cleanser and towel dry it gently. Apply your favorite toner and finish up by applying your favorite moisturizer. Allow your skin at least 10 minutes to absorb the moisturizer before you continue.

Apply foundation. Foundation helps create smooth and flawless-looking skin. Dot your foundation onto your forehead, cheeks, chin and nose. Use a foundation brush, a damp sponge or your fingers to blend the foundation into your skin. If you find there are areas which need extra coverage, apply concealer. Once your foundation and concealer are finished, set your makeup with face powder.

Create the bold eyes. The French maid costume entails bold eye makeup that includes dark eyeliner, eye shadow and mascara. Apply an eye shadow shade that matches your skin tone as a wash on your eyelid. Chose a shade that is three shades darker than that color of your eyes. Apply the darker color into the crease of your eyelid. Blend it all together using a blending brush. Line your top lid with liquid eyeliner. Allow the liner to dry for at least 4 minutes and then curl your eyelashes. Follow up with a coat of mascara.

Add a flush. Choose a blush that is either rosy or pink. These will give your skin a luminous glow and melt into your skin. Apply the blush to the apples of your cheeks. If necessary, blend the blush into your skin by using your face powder and a makeup brush.

Create the pout. It's time for red lips! Line your lips with red lip liner. You may or may not have to blend the liner into your lips. If the liner matches your lipstick, it is not necessary to blend. However, if the liner is darker or lighter, you must blend. Apply your red lipstick. Be sure to check your teeth to make sure lipstick didn't get on them.

Tips & Warnings
For extra effect, use false eyelashes. This will open up your eyes and add a dramatic touch to your makeup.
Don't forget to use lip liner. Since you are using a bold lip color it is essential that you use lip liner in order to prevent your lipstick from migrating outside of your lip line.
