Instructions

    • 1

Obtain a picture of the Princess Zelda character for inspiration for the costume (see Resources below).

    • 2

Make or purchase a floor-length white dress. The dress should have a full skirt.

    • 3

Purchase purple fabric to create a form-fitting bodice that covers the chest and shoulders. A fabric with a slight sheen will give the Zelda costume a royal look.

    • 4

Use a lightweight cardboard or sturdy felt to form shoulder pads for the costume. Spray paint the pieces gold.

    • 5

Purchase a gold tiara, or craft a gold tiara out of the same material used for the shoulder pads. Decorate the tiara with decorative gemstones.

    • 6

Purchase elf ears. These can generally be purchased at a costume store. A thin braid should be worn in front of each ear.

    • 7

Wear a gold belt. Decorate an additional piece of rectangular purple fabric with gold and white trim and designs. Hang the decorated fabric from the gold belt. It should hang from the waist to the bottom hem of the dress.

    • 8

Accessorize the costume with white, elbow length gloves, white tights, white flats or sandals and a sword.
