Jive is an expression used to indicate jazz music or dancing to a particular kind of music, such as swing music, that was popular during World War II and after. To this day, people still use the expression as in, "Watch that person jive." The term can also refer to someone who is improvising dance steps. How this tap dance combination came to be known as the jive wing is anyone's guess.
