Things You'll Need:
- Green Products
- Money
-
Step 1
If you are trying to go green in your home, there is more you can do then just changing your light bulbs or reducing your electrical output. You can also clean green.
-
Step 2
The first thing you can do is make a cleaning schedule. Write down when you tend to clean and stick to it. This will insure that you dont "over clean" your home and waste cleaning products.
-
Step 3
Buy a line of green cleaning products. There are all sorts of green cleaning products out there that are good for the environment as well as your home. Pick up the Green Works collection and start cleaning green.
-
Step 4
Invest in a feather duster instead of furniture polish. Feather dusters waste no energy and are reusable. Once you are done dusting your furniture, go over it with a slightly moist cloth.
-
Step 5
Avoid buying odor trapping products. Instead buy a candle and burn it in a safe place in your home. Warning: If you have children, please keep the candle out of their reach. This will safe you money and the environment.
-
Step 6
Soap and water mops are a thing of the past. Buy eco-friendly "swiffers" that contain a sprayer. Note: This will never be as effective as an ordinary mop but if you keep up with your cleaning (step 2) a "swiffer" should be all you need.
-
Step 7
Cleaning green doesn't have to happen overnight. Thinking about what you can do is a good first step. Once you act on this you will see big savings!

By green Cleaning we refer to the environmentally preferred alternative for cleaning to obtain a healthy level of indoor environment. Dusting and throwing dust particles into the air while they suspend and make contact with other surfaces is a cross contamination issue, making cleaning a hazardous practice. Microfiber towels are synthetic but the last a life long and the absorb 10 times their weight in water and/or dust, without releasing it back into the air. HEPA filters in vacuums are great eliminating the circulation of dust and all its compon...
