Step 1
First, determine what your goals are for your vacation in Punta Cana. Is it a honeymoon, where privacy is a big priority? Do you want to be in a secluded area, or near a city? Is an 'adult-only' vacation resort important to you?
-
Step 2
Secondly, in your internet browser, do a web search for "Punta Cana" "All-Inclusive" and one of the goals you stated above. For example, you could search for "Punta Cana" "All Inclusive" and "Adults Only". When you find some results, write down the names of the resorts.
-
Step 3
Then, one at a time, do a web search with the name of each resort, and the word "reviews". You will be given web sites where travel agents, honeymooners, visitors to the resort, and others, can write reviews. This can give you good, non-biased information on the resort. The Riu is a popular one, but my favorite is Excellence Resort Punta Cana!

Step 4
If you are a member of AAA, it is free for you to go and talk to one of their travel agents. You can make an appointment and go and discuss the goals for your vacation. You can talk about some of the resorts that you're interested in, or you can go unprepared. Either way, the travel agent can provide you with feedback and guidance and help you develop your vacation package. Often they will also have some magazines with pictures and information for you as well. And it's all free if you're a member!
