Bought a new phone with a lot of potential to run some cool programs, but don't know where to find them. I will show you where to find Windows Mobile OS programs. Some are free and some you pay for, decide what programs are what you need.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Windows Mobile Cell Phone
  • PC (if you need to download programs first)
  1. Step 1

Check the operating system an your device, there are many versions available including version Windows Mobile 5, 6, 6.1 and now 7. Go to your devices setting folder and select the "about" button, this will tell you what version you have installed. Previous versions were Pocket PC introduced in April 2000, Pocket PC 2002 introduced in 2001, and Windows Mobile 2003 which offered support for bluetooth in June 2003. In October 2004 Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition was released which has support WPA encription (a wifi standard).
Once you figure out which operating system your device has write this down so you can find software that is compatible with your device.

  2. Step 2

Visit the links below in resources, some software is free, some is demo and some you will have to register and pay for. Some demos have limited features and other have a time limit restriction. I didn't really know what software was available or what I was looking for, guess you'd say was browsing for whatever.

  3. Step 3

Two ways to do this, download directly to your phone and install programs or download to your pc and transfer the file to your phone and install it. I choose to use my pc as I have cable broadband and don't have internet service on my phone. Either way it winds up on your phone. If you are downloading from a third party you may want to scan it with your anti virus software before putting on your phone.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use a memory card on your phone to store your programs to conserve space in the memory of your phone.
