Having constipation makes you feel like something is wrong. You feel a little less happy on those days. And you don't want to utilize over the counter remedies because you are afraid you won't be leaving the bathroom for several days. There are natural ways to combat constipation and to keep it from coming back. You just have to take care of yourself, that's all. This E- How article explains how.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fresh veggies and fruits
  • Plenty of water
  • A comfortable bathroom
  • A good book and relaxing music.
  1. Step 1

Taking care of constipation the natural way means just that, utilizing nature as a resource to help yourself out. Buy natural aloe from a health food store and drink with water. Aloe is a natural wonder that makes your stomach feel better and it also is a natural laxative. Ask at your local health food store what the best aloe is to consume and how. Don't buy any aloe, because it could contain chemicals you do not want to ingest.

  2. Step 2

Drink plenty of water every day. Your body needs water in order to function properly. You especially need water to digest food, and have it move through your intestines into your colon. Without the proper amount of water, your colon doesn't work as efficiently. Without proper hydration in your body, you can become dehydrated, thus your body will not be able to digest your food easily. And many times when you are dehydrated, you feel hungry, when what you really need is to a glass of water.

  3. Step 3

Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables every day. Your body needs fiber to move excess waste through your colon. Without the fiber the food actually has a harder time of moving through your colon. This is why you need water and fiber. Eat your veggies and fruits! Good, fresh fruits and veggies will make your body feel good and you will be better able to go to the bathroom.

  4. Step 4

Caffeine in coffee, tea and soda drinks will actually help your body to go to the bathroom. Caffeine is a natural diuretic and makes your body pass more water and excess waste out of your colon. Caffeine kind of revs up your metabolism and will help rev up your colon. Don't consume too much caffeine though, because you will pay in the, ahem, end. You can end up going to the bathroom too much.

  5. Step 5

Get plenty of exercise. Exercise will help things move along in your entire body as well as your colon. Exercise benefits your body, and will cause your body to want to go to the bathroom. Exercise will work out the bad hormones you have coursing through your veins and pump in those good hormones that will have your body feeling better. Exercise will also alleviate stress in your body as well as your mind. Sometimes when you are stressed out, it is difficult to go to the bathroom.
