Things You'll Need:
- Saddle Stand or Chair
- Neatsfoot oil
- Paint Brush or Cloth
- Bowl
- Old Newspaper or Old Sheets/Towels
- A leather Saddle ;)
- Time

Step 1
First, you will need to decide if you will be oiling your saddle inside or outside. If it will be done inside, I highly recommend placing old sheets on the floor where this will take place. This will protect flooring.
-
Step 2
Saddle StandNext, place your saddle on a saddle stand. If you do not have one, then the back of a chair will do. If you use the back of a chair, make sure to cover the chair with old sheets or towels to protect it. Also, you may need to put some type of heavy item in the chair seat to keep it stable.
-
Step 3
Now you are ready for the fun part! Pour an inch or more of the Neatsfoot oil into a bowl. Dip the paint brush into the bowl. Make sure to get a generous amount on the brush.
-
Step 4
Take the soaked paint brush, and begin painting your saddle with it. A cloth can also be used to do this, but a paint brush is able to get into all the nooks and crannies of the saddle much easier and better. All leather on the saddle need to be saturated with the neatsfoot oil. You will notice that the saddle drinks it up rather quickly. Depending on how dry your saddle is, you may need to apply several coats to your saddle. The end result will Amaze you =)
